Heilsutrygd

Heilsutrygd can pay an allowance or subsidy for expenses related to the death and funeral arrangements of persons who are covered by Article 1 in the law on public health insurance (lóg um almenna heilsutrygd). This means that the persons covered were registered to be residents of the Faroe Islands at the time of death.

The subsidy is intended to cover expenses for coffins and shrouds.
These expenses should be documented with receipts.

Heilsutrygd can subsidize the purchase of new glasses (spectacles) or spectacle lenses for children under the age of 16 as well as those who are over the age of 67 or have taken early/disability retirement.

Heilsutrygd can subsidize one pair of spectacles or spectacle lenses per year. However, for children under the age of 16, the subsidy can be for two pairs of spectacles or spectacle lenses per year in the event of changes in the prescribed lenses or frame.

"Persónar, [...] sum rinda heilsutrygdargjald í øðrum Norðanlandi vísandi til Nordisk Konvention om social sikring, [...] kunnu eftir umsókn verða undantiknir gjaldskyldu..."
